In-House Hockey/Learn to Skate Program

For the Beginner Hockey Player — Ages 3 to 13

The Garfield Heights Municipal Hockey and Municipal Figure Skating Programs invite you to become a part of an introductory activity for those who would love to play hockey and for the beginner who wants to learn to skate. Registration in this 8 -week session which will include use of necessary protective equipment. All you need is skates and a stick.  If you don’t have skates yet, rental figure skates will be available at no additional fee.

Children will be divided into 2 Groups: Group A designed for the beginner skater with little to no experience and Group B designed as an introduction to the sport of hockey consisting of the basic fundamentals.

All classes are held on Saturdays at Dan Kostel Recreation Center from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm

Free Try Hockey Day

Come and join us on Saturday, September 16th @ 11:15 am for our FREE Try Hockey Day! If your child likes it, the recreation office will be accepting registrations that day for Garfield’s In-House Hockey/Learn to Skate Program (ages 3-13). You can experience hockey and learn how to skate in a nine week session which includes use of necessary protective equipment. All you need is skates and a stick. If you don’t have skates, rental skates will be available for the beginner skater at no additional charge. The 1st session runs September 23rd through November 11th. Session Fees: $40.00 residents and $60.00 non-residents.
