No accounts, no names, no emails. The site never asks who you are, and it collects nothing about players, students or anyone else. There is nowhere to write about yourself or anyone else. The only two typing boxes are the one where you paste your own Bleacher Book link, and the one where you type DELETE to confirm a delete; the site does not store what you type in either (how a book's link is kept is just below).
What a Bleacher Book holds. If you start one: which lessons you marked done, your Rink IQ answers, and the dates. The book is found by a private random key; we keep only a one-way hash of that key. The key sits in a secure cookie in your browser and in the part of your link after the # sign, which browsers never send to servers.
Rate limits. To stop abuse we count requests per connection per day, using a salted one-way hash of the internet address. Those counts are deleted after two days.
Server logs. Our web server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page) for security, rotated by the host.
Backups. The database is backed up nightly; backups are kept 14 days.
Deleting. Delete your book from its page at any time. A book not opened for 400 days is deleted automatically (unless it has a running Pass).
No trackers. No analytics, no ads, no third-party scripts, fonts or images. Payments, when they start, are handled by PayPal on PayPal's own pages.
